Just today I was moving half a dozen platy teenagers (about 6 months), and while netting them one was trying to get out and the net rim pressed against him and the glass. I did little force but he instantly made a face like he had his mouth open, his eyes got all big and his insides started to turn red. It looked like internal bleeding. It seemed to normal, but his left fin is barely moving. He was swimming in circles and then was just hanging out at the top of the tank. I feel horible as he is probably suffering very much. I have never killed a fish before, I don't have the heart. Whats everyones take on this?

I dossed melafix and pimafix so maybe he will pull through. :/

update:

couple hours later and he seems like nothing ever happened. He is swimming like brand new. Ill update in the morning. (maybe the mela and pimafix helped)

I would just keep it to some watered down melafix for now, primafix is more treating deseases not injurys and is quite a powerful med so you don't want to cause him any stress by adding it to the water- congrats though that he seems to have made it through, good luck with aiding him to his recovery, you might want to feed him some frozen(but thawed out) high protein foods like bloodworms, daphinia or krill to give him some energy to recover plus some blanched cucumber to give him some vitamin C to help him recover  .

well this morning he is swimming like nothing ever happened. I dosed more mela and pimafix. I am at work now so I didnt read about the pima before I did it. However when I return home I will hatch some baby brine shrimp for the lil guys and clip some cucumber slices.

Ill keep ya updated on him - ill take pics too hehe.

 thanks
