Right Ive had my tank for 10 days now on a fishless cycle, but everyday day there seems to be more and more of these small snails, Ive taken some out but there seems to be the same amount still in there.
How quick do these grow from eggs to snail?

I'm wondering if I should take everything out and give the tank a good clean then put new gravel in. Also because these snails seem to be thriving in the fishless cycle stage surely assassin snails will be ok to put in there to get to work wont they?

I would just start the tank over and boil everything that's what I would do unless you have a large tank then you could drop a group of loaches in when it's cycled

have you put live plants in? thats how they got in i suspect, i would give plants, gravel ect a rinse because they can be a devil to get rid of because they breed and breed

I am having the same problem right now. I started out with one and, over the past month or so, they have bred and at the last count this morning there were 30! I spent 10 minutes this afternoon fishing them out with the net, but I suspect that there will be some left over who will continue to breed.

It is a big tank and Ive been looking up some loaches, apparently there is a choice of two the clown loaches and the yoyo loach but will these eat shrimps?

I have never had loaches but at a guess I would think they will. But there will be people who know alot about loaches on this site as I could be wrong

My loaches love snails, which is a bonus as that's not why I bought them. They were sold to me as yoyos but may be botia rostrata or histrionica...either way, they're great fun to watch.

Get some assassin snails, they will eat the one's you don't want, breed very very slowly, and look great!
