Small Particles In Water

Can anyone suggest a good method of removing small particles from the water. I'm beginning to get frustrated as it sometimes looks really bad.

I've tried to remove them and I do frequent large water changes but it reappears quickly. I also have a slight bog wood tanning issue as well.

My tank is a rio 400.

stocking (I know is overstocked, but most are juveniles and a change around will occur when they are larger)
1xGold severum
1xGT
1xBlue JD
2xRainbow cichlids
2xRainbow fish
2xGeophagus Brazilliensis
1xNicaragua Cichlid

I've tried using a filter pad but it didn't seem to help much.

I'm using a fluval FX5 and a fluval 405

I see so many crystal clear tanks on here and I wondered if anyone can give me any tips.

Not tried it myself yet but been reading lots of good things about Seachem Purigen.

So according to the site just a 100ml of this stuff would be enough for my tank? seems a bold claim but I'll give it a try. thanks

youve got plenty of filtration , so i think your best option would be to get some floss in your filter. to catch these small particles and "polish" your water .

Filter floss to remove small particles and Carbon if you wish to remove the tannins.
