Small hang on back filter

Is there any small hang on back filters that will fit on an aquarium with a plastic lid.

AquaClear do HOB filters in a range of sizes, one might fit. You might have to cut the plastic lid to make them fit.

Well, if the plastic lit doesn't have an opening, you have to cut an opening to make it fit, or so I have learned .

Well, they come in different sizes. So, I guess one should fit if you'd leave the lid off. Or make an opening in the lid for the in- and outlet.

The smallest one is good for 10 gallons or so...

I originally cut my lid with good results. A few years on I replaced the light with a Fluval Aquasky. The orignal light was integrated into the lid. So I had two panels cut by https://plasticsheetsshop.co.uk/
I gave them the specs for the cutouts for the HOB, feeding cover and also the holes for the handles.
Worth doing if you don't fancy cutting it yourself

IIRC the price for cutting was negligible and I had to buy the acrylic sheet anyway because the original panels were too narrow with the new light.

I'm not sure if it will fit for your purposes, you may have to cut the top, but I have always found Aquaclear to be the best HOB filters. They have numerous sizes to choose from as well.
