I got 2 sterbai corydoras 6 days ago i only got 2 at the time as i wanted to get another 2 from another shop to make a group just incase they decided to spawn as there was only a few and i thought they might be related.

I noticed yesterday a growth on one and a deformed looking fin the fin looks like its allways been like it as it looks healed but i didnt notice it when i got him or the growth i cought him rubbing the growth on the sand earlier so i moved him to my empty cycled 10gal on his own just incase.

Ive got 4 bronze corys that ive had for a couple of months now and there perfect as are all the fish exept this one he seems fine but is a little more timid that the other sterbai and corys and a bit slower.

Any ideas of what it could be?

Heres a few pictures...

Does the growth look red with white edges.
I would add a bacterial med to the tank.
What's your location?

Hi, no its sort of white and it has one of his spots on the side of it so it may be coming from behind his skin.

Im from nottingham what meds would you reccomend?

Thanks

If the growth beneath the skin it could be a tumour.
Does it look hard or soft.

If you can issolate I would try and get furanol by jbl. Be warned as it wipes the beneifical bacteria out in the filter.
If you can't issolate, esha 2000.

It looks soft he seems fine since ive moved him into the 10gal hes swimming about just like my others i don't think hes in pain or anything.

Hes on his own in the 10gal so i will ring round my local fish shops tomorrow and see if they have any furanol.

Thanks

If it's soft I would use a bacterial med then.
Let me know how you get on if you don't mind.
Good Luck.

I coulndt find any fo the meds you reccomended at my local fish shops this one is local to me is there anything there that can help? they have a online shop http://www.wharfaquatics.co.uk/categories.asp?cat=71 he got better over the weekend but i woke up this morning and hes very slow he swims up in the air and just nosedives into the sand and sits there his skin is very slimy and peeling like when you have sunburn.

I can get any meds he needs from that shop today so if anyone could reccomened one from there that would be great.

Thanks

Anti internal bacteria med by interpet. It's only good on mild bacteria infections.

i would go for Waterlife Myxazin as the cover lot of infections but they will both work i think

R.I.P.

Water changes for a few days on main tank.
It's up to you if you try and claim your money back.

Ive finished a 50% change on the main tank a few minutes ago they all seem fine.

Im not really bothered about my money back i don't know why i want to ring them tbh lol maybe to see if any of the others got sick also not much point though i guess.

If they were sick lfs don't always tell you.

Good Luck.
