Oh just thought of another, puntius melanampyx (melon barb, panda barb etc), another peaceful barb, grows to about 12cm, decent size. Slightly more affordable than denisonii barbs at about 2/3 pounds each!! Best kept in groups of 8+ nice black and orange colouration!
Although one thing i will say is i do not know how they will react to long finned fish, i didnt personally have problems with nipping but i never kept them with anything like that!

I got some rosy tetras and zebra danios, they were advertised as large, they were bigger than the younger ones they had but not by a great deal. They look great, 3 separate shoals of fish at different heights in the tank with plenty of swimming space Thank you to everyone for the advice and suggestions.

One more question, I've just realised you've suggested lower temps for other species of danios, my tank is currently in averaging around 25.5, is this going to be ok for them?

Zebra danios are hard as nails and really wont mind anything from 23 to 28. 25.5 will be absolutely fine!

Neons , even cardinals r fine.. I used to have them with adult wild altums.. But remember.. There is always a nutter in the tank who want bit of action..
