Hi,

I don't recall where, but remember seeing once a small sw setup somewhere...it was maybe one of those 5 gallon bow front aquariums...and it was set up with saltwater fish in it.

Now I know nothing yet, but was curious if this is possible? I love the beauty of saltwater fish, but would really prefer something small for a beginner start up.

I, of course, would be doing a lot of research into sw tanks before then! But just curious if this set up I saw is an ok thing to do depending on the fish.

HI Grulla...I'm just starting up a 24 G Nano Cube...a bit bigger than what you want, but check out my thread so you can get an idea of what it entails. 5 gallons is very small and will require meticulous care. You can do it, but, it can crash easily. Also, check out Parker 313's thread. She started a 10 gallon nano. Good luck. SH

I started a 5 gallon and so far it is going rather well. It's my first ever SW tank, so supposedly it supposed to be hard to start SW with a small tank, but with careful research, extensive planning and hard work, a nano can be quite easily accomplished. You just need a bit of dedication. I am starting mine with hardy fish/inverts and a simple setup with some live rock.
