hi all . i managed to get a small 3 gallon tank and the plan is to put a 25w heater ,external filter and an led lamp in it for a betta display.
i want to put sand ,a couple of plants in it like java moss or something along with a small piece of wood i took out of my 33 gallon

i have already a pretty handsome male like this one in the photo below and im thinking should i take him out of the big tank ,put him in the small tank then put a few females into the large tank to take his place then eventualy breed him.
that will be a bit down the line though.
does that sound like it could work?

btw as you could imagine im a bit new to this

I definitely don't think that the breeding thing will work, but the tank choice is great! A 3 gallon is a good size for a male Betta splendens, I would purchase a liquid water testing kit though as ammonia is most likely to be in higher numbers in a small 3 gallon
You should really do lots of research before you even attempt to breed bettas

yeah i know its just a thought .. ill not be breeding but as long as i know he'll be happy on his own in there. could i slip a couple of neons in with him or would he be better alone?
