Haven't personaly used this perticular filter, but I have been looking for it. There was a short description of these on a 1 gal. Kritter Keeper purchased months ago and since I've been looking for it with no results. BUT, here it appears at Petco (I know, but they DO have niffty supplies there.)

Recently there have been a few filter posts popping up and I hope this helps most of you out with those 1-5 gal.'s. No clue on the flow or how well it actualy filters but we'll see tommorow when when we get one up...

Penn-Plax Small Tank Filter

I have one of those lying around at home... Its basicly an updated sponge filter, but for the price isn't bad at all.

I've used those in temporary holding tanks and whatnot. Theyre just a cheap box filter (have a sponge and charcoal in them). The only problem is, you can't change out just part of the media. Theyre a disposable item. So you have to completely replace the media. You can't even really open them just to rinse out the sponge. So for a long term thing, they really aren't too ideal, but for a short term tank, they would work.
