Sluggish Fish

I have mad my 10 gallon tank for about four months, and my fish are very sluggish recently.

PH is 6.8
Ammonia is 2.0 ppm (was 8 i am working on lowering it.)
Nitrate is: 40 ppm
Nitrite is: 0 ppm

I thought i had cycled the tank but apparently not.

please give me some help.

my fish buddies are two platies, and a dwarf gourami.
