I'm 5 days into a fishless cycle of a new 20 gallon tank.  The tank is sitting in a dark corner of the room, but I just noticed that in the morning, there's a period of about 15 minutes when the sun hits just the right point in the sky, and I get a sliver of sunlight shining into my tank.  Its not hitting the filter, so I don't expect it to hurt the cycle.  Its making a bright spot roughly 1 inch wide and 3 inches tall, and it only lasts for 15 minutes or so. I'm wondering if its going to encourage algae growth.  Should I be worried?

You might get algae growth, if you do, it's not the end of the world.
Once tank is cycled you may get some snails and shrimps if you like them, they are pretty good with algae control.

Since you are doing a fishless cycle and if you also have no plants, you can cover the glass with a cloth or something to stop sunlight getting in the tank.
Won't harm the fishless cycle process at all.

If you are worried, during those times you can partially shut the curtains or blinds for those 15 mins to stop that happening.
