Sleepy betta

Has anyone else noticed how long it takes bettas to fully wake up in the morning? I have some females in a community tank and have to feed them at different times to their tank mates because they like to "sleep in". I also have some 5 week old and 3 week old babies, and they too are slow to wake. There's no point me even giving them their baby brine shrimp until they've had an hour of daylight.
With that, and their occasional aggression, and their nosy personalities, they're like teenagers.

Mine takes a few seconds to “wake up” once the lights on come.

You should give all fish a couple of hours to wake up before feeding them.

TURNING LIGHTS ON AND OFF
Stress from tank lights coming on when the room is dark can be an issue. Fish don't have eyelids and don't tolerate going from complete dark to bright light (or vice versa) instantly.

In the morning open the curtains or turn the room light on at least 30 minutes (or more) before turning the tank light on. This will reduce the stress on the fish and they won't go from a dark tank to a bright tank instantly.

At night turn the room light on and then turn the tank light off. Wait at least 30 minutes (or more) before turning the room light out. This allows the fish to settle down for the night instead of going from a brightly lit tank to complete darkness instantly.

Try to have the lights on at the same time each day.

I have a betta, but she is usually awake by the time I get up and turn their light on. My bedroom where the tank is gets lots of natural light from outside, so I turn the tank lights on after the sun is up and it is bright in my room, and she is such a pig she has no trouble waking up once there is food in the tank?
