Sleeping

Is it normal for bettas to sleep? i have 2 and they both go into a cave in their tanks, they act like there asleep because they dont move until the light comes on and i tap on the tank, then they come for food. Thanks , Mark

Yea that's completely normal... I have some that sleep in their plants and some that actually lay on their side at the bottom and scare me to death b/c I always think they are dead.

i have one that rests in it plants an another that will jus kinda be on his side in the bottom corner an not move for a while. scares me every time but i know that once i get use to it he'll die like that an i leave him in there like that for a day or an an EEEEEWWWW i dont wanna think about it

All mine have special sleeping places as well... like Vassago sleeping in the back under his plants and Zaliel perching on the very top of his plant close to the surface
