Hi all

Well, the new tank is still going well :good: The marysis filter system is working fine, even the skimmer :good: My Silver Belly Wrasse, Magenta Dottyback and Scarlet/Flame Hawkfish have all been playing nicely and feeding well together.

So today I picked up a juvenille pair of Pink Skunk Clowns (Amphipirion perideraion) and also a nice sized sarcophyton leather. I decided on Skunks after a lot of reading. I didn't want to put an anenome in so wanted a clown that didn't need one to host.

The Sarcophyton opened within about 3 hrs of going in my tank, which was nice.

The Skunks have spent the majority of their time swimming near the surface. They have also fed well on Mysis shrimp and flake.

The lights are obviously off now, being 1am, and they are near the surface in a quietish corner. Is this normal behaviour for Skunks?

Thanks

New clownfish of any species take a while to adjust and the behavior you describe is not abnormal :)

Ah cool, Thanks Ski. I know they are ok health wise, alert, active and feeding :good:

we need pictures :D

all is sounding well, and i like your choice of live stock. im inclined to go with a leather for my next tank in the hope that the clowns will host

siunds normal to me, clowns never seem normal anyway, they are nuts.
My clowns bob around all night whereas other fish seem to have a sleep hole

LOL I think they did just bob about all night too

I'll get some fresh pictures taken, Mind you the Clowns wont stay still

Thanks Ben :good:

Forgot to mention in the earlier post, that the Pink Scooter is doing well :good: Have seen him "scooting" about after feeding mysis shrimp. He is taking frozen and i presume the copepods. I have also put in some freshly hatched brine shrimp. I have my own hatcheries for our betta fry. I put a syringe of them in after the white lights had gone out, and about 5 minutes later the scooter and peppermints were very very active. Do you think that the Scooter would be eating them?
