Does anybody know what meds there are that are easily available within the uk for treating the above?

I bought some chain loach and one is looking very skinny and the same as pics of the same issue elsewhere on the net.

Being skinny can be other things apart from internal parasites.
It can mean old age, not feeding enough, the fish is starving, fish tb, internal parasites, bacterial infection, external parasites.

Signs of internal parasites are.
long stringy white poo or clear mucas poo.
Worms prutruding from the anus.
Enlarged anus, red inflamed anus.
Sunken in belly.
Bent spine.
Fish will sometimes swim on its side.
Fish will look skinny or bloated.

Being skinny and clear mucas poo can still point towards a number of things.
Like internal parasites, fish tb, bacterial infection.

I would get an internal wormer med and treat the whole tank.
Need location for a med.

I'm in the uk. Haven't got a clue which med to go for

If the fish does have internal parasites it depends on which parasite it is.

There this med but you will have to buy it online.

Once fish are really skinny and emaculated the damage has been done. The med might not help much for the skinny fish.
Still need to treat the whole tank anyway.
Soak the fish food in garlic juice to boost it immune system.

Ta for the help!

Just one more thing that I've noticed though...

I can see the spines of my fish (they are quite pink) through their skin  Would this be because they are thin or something else?

Not sure if I'm honest.
If the fish are skinny due to internal parasites they can cause bacterial deseases.
That's why you have to back up with a bacterial med after worming them.

Is it possible to load a pic up of the fish onto the site.

Any signs of flicking and rubbing, darting, excess mucas, laboured breathing.
External parasites can cause fish to go skinny aswell.

There's honestly no odd behaviour going on at all. No rubbing, flicking or anything. Most of my fish now have the spine visible in a pink colour. I have one clown loach and one chain loach that look like skeletons (they're so thin, two more clowns look like they're heading that way (just behind their heads are developing sunken craters and another clown loach doing the clear gloopy poop. The gloopy poop is like clear bubbles attached to a barely if not non visible string. It's really got me thrown and I can only guess that it's from the one chain loach that turned up extremely thin.

I would try and get the jbl med this article suggest. Jbl spirohexol. Might need to order it online.

Loss of weight or "skinny disease" is also quite common in Clown loaches. Typical symptoms are loss of weight and behaviour known as "knifeback" even though the fish is acting and eating normally. This sickness is more difficult to treat, it comes from a parasite organism (spironucleus) in the intestines of the same type that is thought to cause the so called "discus disease". I have successfully removed this disease from newly imported fish by using Spirohexol from JBL in the form of tablets. I have taken one tablet and crushed it and dissolve it in as little water as possible. I have then used discus granules which have been soaked in the solution. It becomes like a thick porridge after a short time when the food has drawn in the liquid. I then feed this to the sick fishes, after a week it looks like the sickness is gone. For the best possible effect do not feed with any other food. Flagyl (Metronidazole) also helps fight against this sickness but at least here in Sweden it is on prescription and can be a little difficult to come by.

Apart from this Clown loaches are not more susceptible than other fish, the above sickness usually occurs in fish that have been stressed during transport or subjected to other stress factors like cold water or poor aquarium hygiene. Do not buy fish that look emaciated! Well looked after fish are seldom sick. To quote my friend Elisabeth Hallberg; "the best way to avoid sickness is to keep the fish healthy".

The sellor shouldn't be selling skinny fish.
Claim your money back and try and get the med money out the the sellor aswell.
Might make them not sell sick fish onto the public.
