Oh dear....

I'ved just seen a space where i can put another 4ft tank :/ It's where my lizards currently are but I'm having to give them up as the cost of running them is too great plus the extra work ontop of fish.

It can only be 16" wide though so actually i don't think i can make it big enough  . The stand thats there is from a Rio 240 which is 63US gallons.

Oh well guess it wasn't meant to be!

Will have to keep searching!

right, damn me I'ved found a place to put a tank... doh!

it can be 40x30x??

how high do I need the tank? it's can't go 2ft tall but i can do 20" quite comfortable I reakon, this works out at 115 US gallons.

does this make choice of tank mates a little larger?

wider and longer is better than deeper  not only does it provide a bigger surface area for oxygen exchange and such, it gets kinda hard to do stuff at the bottom of the tank if you aren't tall (kinda like me  ) or at least have freakishly long arms :D

width and depth sure are better but I'm wondering how much swimming space/heaight triggers and such like apriciate.

I can't really go any higher though, as it's going into a cubboard with a sloping ceiling, so If I make it too high and long it will stick out in my room too much. I think I'll have to clear out the cubboard and draw some lines on the wall to get my max length and height.

Height won't be too much of a problem as It will only be about a 1ft off the floor places on come cinder blocks or similiar.

Paul is freaky......havent you seen her, i mean him :S :S :S :S , sorry Paul had to tell them your secret :p if you move that bed out of your room yould have more room for tanks, then you could put a hammoc up to sleep in. U like camping, would be second nature to you

i don't reallyknow if fish care about depths (unless you're pullin fish up from waaaaaaaaaay deep down). they want more area to swim. watching my fish (niger trigger, goldstripe maroon clowns, regal tang, flame angel, pajama cardinals, chromis) they'd rather do circles than have to swim up and down. that's a rather generic way of saying they want their room, they really don't care about depth as far as i notice. They go and do laps or wutever but don't really care about how high or low they go, they only go down to the bottom to kick it around the LR... :dunno:

sorry, just got home from the bar, maybe i can explain it better after i sleep this ish off

sheeeeeeeeiiii....ooooot (shoot for you young 'ins) I might just be waaay off base but maybe someone can clarify wut i'm tryin' to say
