I was researching online and I found that, for breeding, Bettas like a tank that's five gallons? ...Will that fit the fry? Also, what is the best kind of heater, bubbler and filter is best for breeding tanks?

Some uses 2.5, 5, 10, 15 gallon tanks for breeding.

I use a lunch box maybe 6"x8"x6" I prefer to breed them in a smaller container.

Ah. :)
If I do end up breeding, I'll definately use a 5, due to the fact that it seems a decent quarters... I still need to get everything figured out though.

i use 5 gallons with a 25W heater. I dont use a filter because I personally dont think i need to use one as the water changes keep the tank clean enough.

K.J the 5 gallons would be ok for breeding and keeping the fry in for the first 4 weeks. Then you need to move them to a bigger growout tank until they start showing signs of being male or female. At this point you need to house them all seperately.

If you get under 10 fry then you might not need a growout but your likely to get alot more than this and could end up with a few hundred so make sure you well prepared!!!!! :good:

i think a lot of people use a 20 gallon for grow out
and 1-1.5 gallons to seperate the males once they're identifiable (they'll each need cleaning out every day/every 2 days).

and once the pair of spawned remember the female will have to be removed as soon as the eggs are in the nest, and the male needs to be out once the fry are free swimming, so they'll need their own tanks too.

Im going to be using 4-5 gallon foo tub cubes 3/4 filled with a chunk of bubble wrap and i hop it'll do the job for me this time :)
