I have just bought a fluval duo deep tank L120cm H45cm D40cm. The stand that has come with it is about 20cms shorter than the tank so I have 10cms over hanging on each side. Is this going to be a problem or will it be ok.

how do

ive jsut bought one of these delivered 20 mins ago

http://www.seapets.co.uk/product-details/s...tegory/965.html

thats the one i bought, looking at that pic the stand is 107cm, so that would make sense

when i get back i will fill be filling mine up and if anything goes wrong i will be sueing the company i bought it off:)

I followed the link asnd as you can see from the picture the base of the stand is 107cm but the top of the stand is the same size as the tank 120mm.

My Juwel stand is based on the same principle in that the base is smaller than the top.

I would certainly think twice about putting a tank onto a stand if the tank is going to overhang.

Dani,

You haven't got the top & bottom pieces mixed up by any chance?

I bought the tank second hand but it has never been used. The cabinet was ready assembled when I picked it up.

i certainly wouldn't leave a tank over hanging, asking for trouble I think. it's fine if the base of the stand is smaller than the top, just so long as the top of the stand is at least the same size as the tank base.

:)

might just be best to sell that stand and buy a new one then

73 quid inc delivery you can get one for

Could I not get a peice of strong wood the correct size and nail and glue it to the top? I'm on a budget due to having a child so don't really want to have to buy another stand. Thanx for all your help so far.

if you look in the DIY section I think there's some posts about making/modifying stands :good: that'd be the best place to ask.
