Any body know how to tell the sex of a shrimp?! I'd always thought mine was a fella, but the other day 'he' was upside down on a bit of branch and appeared to be knitting with his back main legs and flicking his small tail leg/sticks (note the use of correct terminology! :*) ) I couldn't see any eggs, but I'm not too sure what I'm looking for, and I doubt the tetras, kuhlis and other greedy pigs wouldn't let them hang around for too long!

I altered my Fluval outlet direction slightly and since I've seen a lot more of him, he now alters his positioning to catch his grub!

PS He was labelled a 'Six Legged Shrimp', but I struggle to find this name elsewhere, he seems to be visually close to a bamboo or rock shrimp. He's about three inches and varies from a straw colour, to brick red/brown, with a whitish stripe down his back. There's a micro pic on my profile pic but it's teeny weeny! (I keep promising myself I'll get some webspace so I can upload some proper pics!)

Any advice would be great! :D

Upload the pics to here. The only way I know to test sex in these guys is to wait for little tinry balls to appear under the thorax(tail). You won't be able to get eggs confused with much else on the shrimp. Let's see some pics in the pictures part of this forum so we can correctly identify it.
