I cant remember if i posted about this a while back but hey ho here we go again :p

so im just wondering if there are any sinking flake foods availiable? my flake food (nutrafin max) just sits on the top of the water and my tetras just swim around franticly waiting for a flake to sink :p im hoping they will learn that food is above!!! lol.. but usually my honey gouramis have scoffed it all by the time some starts sinking

ideas, tips or links welcomed :)

p.s i really like the look of tetra pro colour but is it a sinker? lol

Some of the fish I keep have tiny mouths and it can cause difficulties if they have to gulp at the surface for food, so I simply sprinkle the flake on the surface then swirl the water with my hand and all of the flake sinks giving all of my fish a chance to get some.....Simples :D

I think if you wet the flakes first in a bowl they should sink much faster when added to the tank

+1, I let my flakes soak(bit of tank water) in a egg cup for 5mins.

Keith.

i crumble my flakes realy finely into the flake pot lid. Then add to the tank & give the surface a little tickle with my fingers. The tetras love zooming around after all the tiny bits.

I hold a pinch of flake underwater between my fingers for a couple of seconds and it sinks perfectly.
