I was told a single Convict would be fine during the cycling process in my 105 gallon tank, due to how small it would be (1.5 inches) and the volume of my tank. I had it cycled before using my 6 zebra danios from my 20 gallon, but was forced to drain the tank due to the questioning of the structural integrity of the floor its on. I really would like to keep from using my danios again(plus there a buggar to catch in my planted 20). So after we get everything sorted out, would a convict be fine to cycle it?

The con will work, but they really aren't much easier to catch than danios.

For cycling, 1" per 5 gallons is suggested, you probably have 1" for 50 gallons with the con. I'd use way more than that.

Well, catching won't be a problem as I want it to stay in there :) My Final stocking should be an oscar, serverum, firemouth, and a convict. But a single con should get the job done right?
