Since My Fish Won't Come To The Top To Eat

Why whats wrong with it? Also I believe its the only one in my area that removes all this stuff thats in our water because I used to use this other dechlor (not sure what it was called) but it didn't remove chlormine or something so I got this and it has never let me down. The stuff that I'm using now is call amquel+

big mick the way they can eat it such a short time is because they don't inhale it as it dissolves in the water they start pecking at it and getting bits and pieces to come off it so they can eat it. Also the pleco eats alot of it to.

the next time you go to the LFS or even just walmart, pick up the biggest bottle you can afford of Jungle "Start Right" or TetraAqua "AquaSafe". both of these neutralize chlorine and chloramine within just a few seconds. i personally prefer the Jungle "Start Right" because it has fewer components and 10 drops will neutralize 1 gallon of water. the TetraAqua "AquaSafe" does a bunch of extra stuff and a bottle doesn't seem to last long enough.

the incredible convenience of a dechlorinator that works quickly is worth the extra buck.

I agree, if you're going to keep fish, you can skimp on a lot of things, but the dechlorinator ain't one of them. I used the AquaSafe, as I haven't seen the Jungle brand as readily, since I like to make sure I can find it anytime, anywhere.

Durbkat, you're supposed to rinse your filter cartridge in removed tank water everytime you do a water change, and then put it back. I'm almost positive that you're going through a cycle of some sorts again. You should be doing weekly 25-30% water changes. Period. No monthly stuff. Especially if you are going through a mini cycle.

Don't feed vacation feeders, they suck and pollute the water, I don't care if you've used them before. I will reiterate myself in a nice pleasant way. They suck and pollute the water. :p Don't use them again. Sinking pellets, like those for corycats are great! Don't suck and don't pollute the water.

I want to help you and I understand that your financial and heating situation is difficult. Every Walmart in the universe has more than one type of dechlorinator, and I haven't heard about a dechlorinator making that type of request in over 15 years! When I first began the hobby, I would age my water a day, but my water only had chlorine, no chloramine, and chlorine usually goes away in 24hrs on it's own, but as soon as I heard of a good chemical, boy did I jump on that bandwagon! Trust us, you'll thank us when you life becomes easier. :D

Were not having ago at you just wan't to help you, like the above reply, i've been abit harsh in a few posts, but it was for a good reasson, but i believe in you, it's like us having to stay in an enviroment for three weeks, having meals and going to the toilet,in the same enviroment it will soon get polluted, that's why im trying to tell you to vacum and water change once a week, then you won't have so many problems.

If you're using flake, why don't you just hold it under the water until it sinks?
Because the fish gets scared and won't eat it then it sinks to the bottom. Also the closest wal mart is like....... wait a minute we don't have a walmart that I know of, now we have a k-mart but I know they don't have a fish section.

Every Kmart I have ever been in, though they may not have fish per say, often sell some supplies, including dechlorinator. Durbkat, you're online a lot, have you ever discussed with your mother the possibility of purchasing some supplies online? Many online stores deliver right to your door, and are extremely reliable. It'll also save you quite a bit on gas, since many offer the option of free shipping, if you're not too rushed for delivery. Even Amazon offers free shipping, and you can buy fish supplies from them as well

We want to help you, but please work with us a little. Everytime we suggest something, you shoot us down with an excuse.

There not excuses there reasons. :look: Also I have some good news..... I just saved a ton of money by switching to Geico  No really the biggest black tetra that hadn't eaten, swam around, or has been seen has come out of hiding and finnaly ate so did 4 others but the other 3 stayed hidden.
