as much as i read up on EI i still get confused  . i want to keep plants like amazon swords and i understand the need for ferts. i want to use sand, as i plan on corys at some point. so im wondering if there is some good simple liquid ferts out there that would be worth trying until i can figure out EI  ?

What size is your tank and how much light do you have?

For amazon swords buy some root tabs and that should be good enough. Maybe buy a big bottle of regular flourish too for other plants.

EI really isn't that bad though in terms of understanding it. It's just macros on even days and traces on odd days with the weekly 50% water change and gh booster addition. It's problem is the whole high maintenance thing, which can be a pain for some people. I use EI and it works quite well.

There are other dosing routines such as PMDD which are simpler.

Sera Florena is a liquid iron fertiliser that works well.
Make up some laterite (red clay) balls and stick them under the roots of the swordplants.
