I have a Juwel rio 240L tank and have a spare 125 come up, I would like to invest in a pair of silver sharks, In the 240 at the moment is:
1 clown loach
1 plec
1 red tailed shark
1 honey gourami
2 dalmation mollies
6 harlequins
10 neons
1 baby guppy

Now I would like to keep some in the 240 as i didnt wanna overcrowd the 125, so my question is, what out of that list would survive with the silvers
Any advice would be appreciated.
p.s the red tail, plec and loach are still only small measuring about 1.5 - 2 inches max

Cheers
Luke

Clown loaches like to be kept in groups and you need a 90gal for them, plus silver sharks like to be kept in groups and they need a 125gal tanks, so not either tank is ideal.

... in my experience would survive well with silver sharks. I'm not sure about the rest as ive not kept those personally.

Oh and obviously as the sharks get bigger you'd have to seperate them from the neons (silver sharks will eat anything they can fit into their mouths) but it'll take a long time for them to grow so you have plenty time to enjoy them first.

Silver Sharks (also known as bala sharks) are best kept in shoaling groups of 3 or more, and need plenty of swimming space. A 240 litre tank is roughly 63 US gallons, sadly half the size of what bala sharks really need. A quick search on these forums will find you plenty of threads that will reveal bala sharks kept in tanks too small, where they jump from the water and damage themselves on lids.

thanks v much, wilder tbh ive had this clown loach on its own since its partner died and seems to be happy, growing well, good colour on it and seem to be best buddies with the shark, A lady by me bought a clown loach a long while back on its own and its content now, and is also a good hefty size.
