I was given some silver glass stones (I think they are called)
for my fish tank from a friend,
however I'm not sure these would be ok to use in a tank...

they're supposed to be used to put on top of soil in plant pots I think...

If they were cleaned & soaked for a few days would they be ok to use?
I don't really want to risk it but I don't want to offend by not using them hmm :/

Do you have any pictures? If the silver is on the inside then they should be ok. But if it's some sort of spray paint etc on the outside then I personally wouldn't risk it.

I'm at work at the mo but I'll try to get some pics tonight,
I'm not sure if they're sprayed but if I put them in boiling water
the colouring would come off wouldn't it?

Hmm that's what I'm worried about,
anyway I'll get some pics up later and go from there
they look just like gravel but silver...

Hmmm, if they are silver on the outside and not see through, and not made specifically for aquariums, I'd say no. If they are transparent glass nugget things, I'd say they'd be OK, just clean them to remove any possible nasties.
