I got back home from school today to find all four of my silver dollars swimming round with their mouths open lookin very un-natural. never seen them do it before and none of the other fish are doing it. they cant be low on oxygen cos i have many plants and an air pump. anyone know what the problem is ?

Are they eating? Do they look as if they might be in pain from their mouths? Was thinking maybe mouth fungus or something.

That's strange, i wouldn't think they would have something stuck in there mouths with it happening too four of them, also sores and ulcers can cause a fish to swim with it's mouth open, i've bought harlequins before now that did this, sadly they died, it's like a desease.

Does there mouths look red and inflamed.

Sadly they don't usually make it, can you isolate them, as i've had it with harlequins.

No only the harlequins, and had no problems with the tank when they died, and some of the other harlequins survived.
