Hi all i'm a newbie on here and was hoping someone could answer a question for me..... I have recently bought a new 5ft tank and have just finished transfering all the fish from my other tank over... on doing so i noticed my 2 silver dollars were mating, i quickly transfered them back to the empty 3ft tank and they are still going for it... up to now i have only ever managed to breed live bearers so i'm a bit unsure what to do next??

Do i take the silver dollars out of the 3ft tank when they are finished and put them in the new tank or am i supposed to leave them with the eggs?????? any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's the large water change and sudden temp shock that will of caused them to spawn, sadily most eggs will sucum to fungus if you have or can get melathine blue or malicate this can reduce the fungual problems. after 2-3 days the eggs will hatch and you should notice larve on the glass.

Next will be the hard part.

they will soon use up the egg yolk after 3-5 days after hatching and shortly after becoming free swimming, you need to start feeding the fry.
Newly hatched brine shrimp is the only food I'll recomend.....

Sorry have to go out... will be back later to help more
