Silver Dollar Question

I'm new to this and am not even sure if I'm doing this correctly but here goes. Please don't think I'm wierd, just a crazy senior citizen. I have 2 silver dollar fish and really can't tell if they are male or female. There are no differences in them and no red markings. Anyway, again, don't think I'm crazy, but they are now swimming around like crazy, like they may be breeding, and the one doing the chasing has this little thing in front of his bottom back fin that at first I thought was poop but it's been there for a couple of days and it seems to move when he gets next to the other fish. I haven't seen this on any of the pictures and videos that I've looked at online. Is it what I think it is??? Thanks.

i have two silver dollars, both i believe are male as tehy both have bright red anal fins at the moment (sometimes a darker edged fin). you should find males have slightly larger/longer anal fins.Im not too clued up on their mating/spawning patterns, but luckily there are alot of silver dollar keepers on her from what i have found good luck
