Hello, today I noticed my silver dollar's fins and gills have all turned red, dorsal fin seems to be torn, scales on both sides are almost all off, and now it's having trouble staying upright.

I am wondering if there is anything I can do. If I flip it right side up it fights to stay that way but cannot.

It's a fairly old fish and I think it might just be it's time but if there is anything you can suggest to help I would appreciate it.

Size of tank in gallons or litres?
Full stocking list?
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph?

Do any fish show signs of darting, erratic swimming?
Any signs of flicking and rubbing?
Any excess mucas on gills, body, fins?

Is the fish scales sticking out?
Has the fish been attacked by another fish in the tank?

Can you isolate the sick fish and use a bacterial med?

Just so you know:
Tank: 25 gal
Temp: about 77f 25c
Ph and all that: due to the nearest pet store being over two hours away
The other fish still seem fine.
Scales were just off, not raised. I think it might be from the couple times the pleco put it's big belly on top of it when it landed on the rocks.

Fish passed last night. It and the others lived together peacefully for at least nine years, the pleco being the latest edition with six years.
The catfish still sit's in it's favorite spot atop the bubble rock, pleco hangs out by the wood and bridge, and the other small guys stay in their group by the plants.
Might be strange for fish, but it seems like they miss it. I watched them for the past few minutes and they kept coming up to the side and staring at me, they almost never did that before.

well honestly, I thought the fish would die and what we meant was types of fish you have in there? and honestly sometimes when you put in a new fish... its like making a social anxiety person talk to people... it's very hard to make fishy friends  so i always put fishes in the tank in at least groups of two and watch them and how they interact... :/ for example the other day I put in two new platies in my tank and at first they didnt socialize and in fact the new platies ran away... and they still dont socialize or bug each other but if one platy strays they chase them away...they have their own part of the tank i suppose....territorial  is the word im looking for.

I would strongly suggest you invest in some liquid test kits of your own.
Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

For now a gravel vac and water change.

I still need to now how many fish and which type you have in the tank.

Keep a close eye on the fish. If anymore problems don't hesitate getting back to the forum.

Sorry for your loss.
