I near on didn't beleive it,Thought it was the usual shimmying the dollars do, however this time they were all at it, eggs flying all over the place, but problem is even they were eating the others eggs, along with the oscars, so i should not imagine any will surive, some did go in the volcanic rock's holes, so many hmmmm

Well, the reason that these fish produce so many eggs, is because they (and so many other fish) eat their eggs. They have so many at a time that the predators (including themselves) can't possibly find them all... then they hatch in such short time, so they can't be found. They then have to hide and survive until they get big enough to not fit in the mouths of other fish.

Its a remarkable thing to see on video. I can't imagine how cool it must be to see it in your tank. I'd guess a fairly large number made it to the substrate, and you might end up with a few fry... The big question is how well can they hide so that they don't end up a snack for the oscars, or even the silver dollars? I managed to have some panda cory fry go to adulthood with no intervention from me. 6 so far in the last few months... Proud of that (not that I flaunt it or mention it any chance I get!)

Well, maybe...

Oh yes it was quite cool, trying to upload videos, but taking forver and a day....lol.....yes ive had 100s of bristlenose plecs survive in a ordinary community set up, also 100s of channa ornatipinnis but they were alone in tank with parents, and one hoplo catfish, Ive seen spawning action in the wild but not quite the same as all you saw was them breeching the surface every now and again.

not sure if it will work, video?

If my BN has any fry, I'd be surprised. I only have the one male. Something tells me he won't be spawning alone.

Congrats on the potential for more fry and for the past fry.

I'll be rehoming my other cories to a new larger tank, to make room for any more pandas. I'm thinking of trying to trade some of mine for some from a not so local LFS. I don't want them too inbred. I started with only 3, but now am up to 9. Don't want brother and sister mating, or mother/son, father/daughter, etc.

cheers mate, you too...yes know what you mean....did you see possible video link?

Just tried the link... it didn't work for me.

Hmm have too see if i can open a you tube account,,
