Yesterday I noticed that two of my three Minnow's were hiding in a plant. This is highly unusual. They have been in the tank with the same tank mates for over 4 months. This morning I could only initially see two. I found the third eventually hiding in the tight space behind my intank filter.
It had been attacked and the whole of its tail is missing.
It looks too injured to survive.
I have removed it from the tank for the moment (its now all alone in a separate tank)
Its tank mates are.
2 x Silver Cloud minnow's
3 x Platys (one heavily pregnant)- 1 x appears ill (see separate post)
2 x Leopard Danos
1 x Assassin snail.
Tank 60 Ltr
Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 0.00
Nitrate 40

Probably the leopard danios. Danios can be very nippy, if not in a large enough shoal.

That tail might very well grow back, given time and clean water.

Maybe add a bit of Melafix. Found it works wonders on fin repair.

Sadly I had a death this morning.
My injured Minnow succumbed to his injuries over night.

Hospital Tank with melafix just wasn't sufficient.

Sorry to hear that, dave :(

Sad but I know I did all that could be done (with my limited knowledge).
I have moved the other two minnows out of the tank with the danios and put them into my 260 ltr main tank with my tetras. They appear to have settled in well.
