Silly Question For Some Silly Fish!

My new fish are looking good, swimming in a big group. They have been in a box since Thrsday, so i figured they may be a little hungry. I put in my special baby fish food formula, but not one of them noticed! They all stayed at the bottom and didnt budge.

So, how do i make sure they eat?!

Hey Rorie. What fish do you have? Are they wild caught? I can't tell... are they babies? My experience is that shipping usually stresses fish and they don't eat for awhile. Try different foods especially bloodworms and if they eat that work toward mixing in a more stable food. Also keep the lights low for a few days. Usually makes them more comfortable.

they are cardinals, about an inch long, but not fattened out yet! The guy that shipped them to me sent me the baby food. They all seem pretty happy just now, swimming about and are all full of colour which surprises me!

I will try something that will sink and see if they clock on with that haha

Oh that is pretty big. I would go with some frozen worms. Hard for tetras to pass these up. I'm sure they will start eating soon. I don't know why an inch long cardinal would need "baby food".

TYPICAL, i went to P@H today for a couple things and forgot to buy frozen blood worms!! Arg. I have dry blood worms etc though, so i will get some of them sorted

Agree with Karin.
Generally fish need time to adjust to their new environment before they eat. Just put small amounts in.
How are the bolivian rams? Mine took 2-3 days before they really had anything. You will notice them colour up and they will start eating then. Now, they even grab food from the surface. They eat all types but prefer flake and tropical frozen gamma improvit.
