Silly Fish!

So after my last Betta (Rocket) passed away I decided not to replace him. Of course that didn't last very long

So I now have a new Betta named Kai in my little 5 gallon cube along with 5 amano shrimp. Today I noticed that somehow a woodlouse had managed to fall in the tank and drown and was lying on the bottom. This was seriously perplexing Kai *and* the shrimp.

Kai would swim up, poke at it, swim off. The shrimp would approach, poke at it, then run when Kai came back for another look.

Now the shrimp have decide it's theirs ! Kai seems a little miffed, he's even started flaring at the shrimp with the bug until the shrimp runs off and leaves it behind. At which point Kai will poke at the bug, lose interest and swim off.

All in all an amusing morning's entertainment.

ages ago one of my bettas had a spider walking outside their tank and couldn't understand why they couldn't get it..

my betta flares at my lil brother every time he works in the room but no 1 else. then again i would flare at him to if i could!

do you mean works or walks in the room. in my experience little kids dont work much

This morning my betta would only it the pellets that are falling he was runing back and forth trying to get them (Skittle rather play then eat) so it waas a game after i fed him he looked like he asking "can you give me more food, im having fun!" and later
he was flaring at himself and goes away and turn bak to see if the betta(himself) would stop copy him!
