I've been looking for a shovelnose since I knew I was getting my 140g tank, and couldn't find one anywhere. I found one today, he's a bit bigger than I'd have liked to get him at (about 12"), but I thought I'd get him as I'd struggled to find any others. Anyway, here's some pics of him!!
The LFS had him labelled as Sid The Shovelnose, I thought that was quite a good name!! :D

And finally my evil severum. His colours have really come up since he's been in this tank, I think he's trying to beat the Oscar. He'll be going at the weekend though, he's just been too aggressive with the others. Hence why he's separated!!

I am loving that shovelnose........I am looking to get two,but I can't get any til I find some of a decent size(yours would be good ;) ) Lovely fish!! Like your oscar too. :D

Maidenhead Aquatics in Bristol have 2. one for £20 and the other for £25. They are 10" and 12" respectively!! I know it's a bit far, but I also know what a pain it is to find them!!
Thanks for the comments guys.

Seapets in Ipswich have a four inch TSN at the moment and Swallow Aquatics in Colchester have a three-foot TSN.

Rarely see non-tiger shovels though.

I did see a 10 inch zebra shovelnose on aquarist classifieds for £120 yesterday.

Now there's a pretty fish.

yeah, lovely fish, but like the RTC's shouldn't really be readily available to the public. Very few people are going to be able to house them properly. dunno about the zebra though!

Nice fish, looks like he got a little roughed up in the handling process though :( nothing that good clean water and regular feeding wont heel up quickly enough though. Welcome to the shovelnose keepers club, that makes 4 of us on here now i think.

Only 4 shovelnose keepers, why so little? Are shovelnose hard to look after is that hey there are so little keepers?

I have never seen a shovelnose in my fish store before, it looks very beautiful :)

Not that many members here have the size tanks that are needed to accomidate a fish that "could" grow to 20 inches in length and will eat fish up to one quarter its own size.

great fish there.

The SN's look even better in the flesh! i saw one at my LFS the other day (betta aquatics in clacton) it was smaller than your at about 5" forgotten the price now!!

When i find a 6ft tank i think i'll have to join the club to!!

Cheers guys.
Yeah, CFC they netted him in the LFS using a really coarse net, and then when I got home I realised that my biggest net is an 8"!! (Prat!!) So I had to equalise the water in the Poly box, then kind of "pour"/coax him into the tank. He wasn't too happy about it though!! Looks like he's got an old scar on him as well, but he's healthy enough, an I saw him eat yesterday for the first time, so that is good news.
My god, these things have huge mouths!! He looks like a mini Whale Shark when he opens it up!!

EDIT: Oh Yeah, and it's just typical that as soon as I mange to find one, everyone says "I saw one here the other day, and there was on there"!! Honestly Why can't I stumble across these shops you all go to? :D (I suppose I really should ask on here first, then I'd find out!!)
Anyone seen any LFS's that have any Satanoperca Jurapari in, I'm after 4 of them, if you see any let me know!!! :D

Maidenhead Aquatics at Syon park in Isleworth (West London) has a few 4"+ juraparis in stock, about £25 each though :/
