I have the following:

2 Marbled Angels. 4 Zebra Danios. 6 Pearl Danios. 5 Guppies (3m 2f), 3 Golden Gourami

Cheers,

Stephen

How many gallons is the tank, well angel don't like salt so i would go in with two taaspoons full for now.

I wouldn't mess with the ph either, as it only going to cause stress, and if you do change it you will have large water changes to worry about, as the ph tap will be different from the tank.

50 US Gallons. I'll be doing daily water changes for a while to flush the tank clean - should I add a little salt with each change to keep the salinity at a constant level?

Cheers,

Stephen.

If it's a fifty gallon two tablespoon, add the salt back when you remove the water, good luck.

Thanks for your help. I'll leave the pH for the time being!

Cheers,

Stephen.

Sorry i cant be of help for your sick guppy but wilder seems to have sorted you out with it so good luck. I just wanted to comment on this

"My LFS suggested adding some marble to the tank. I was surprised by this at first, but on reflection my tank ph always creeps up, so perhaps a permanent counter to this would be a good thing."

If you were trying to lower the ph marble is the last thing you want to add. Marble is the same chemical makeup as Limestone, AKA Calcium Carbonate (limescale). Therefore marble would only raise your ph further. Dont bother messing with ph - it can cause more harm than good sometimes.

Good luck with the guppy :)
