I have had my tank setup for about 3 months, went through a little bout of fungus, got that cleared up with some Fungus Clear by Jungle. I followed all the water change instructions for it. I treated it twice. It has been about a month since that happened. I generally do a bi-weekly water change (Probably should do it more frequently). Anyways on Saturday night I added two rams horn snails. They seemed to be doing fine, and then on Sunday night I came home from work and they both were laying on there sides inside there shells. I immediately took then out as I remember about the fungus medicine and stuck them in some new water.

I figured they were dead after a day of not moving. I would come back from work and they would have semed like they may have moved by it could have been the dog moving the bowl. Anyways, right now, one is hanging halfway outside its shell moving his little antennas. That fact that he is alive is pretty amazing to me, but I am not sure what I can do for him at this point. Is there anything that I CAN do for them, medicine or something?

i suggest had-a snail it kills all snail.lol only joking snails are asexual you only need one and they can multiply fast covering your filters.they are a true pest.but if you use any medicine with cooper like you did it will kill them.just hope they wernt exposed to enough to killem

Hi,

No need to kill them! Their egg sacks are huge, you can just scoop them out. Or you could breed and sell them.

The same thing happened to me. I was treating my tank and removed the Ramshorns. When I put them back in, they laid on their sides for 2 days, with a little bit of head sticking out. I totally thought they were dead. Then Monday, they're scooting around again like nothing happened.

My advice is give 'em a couple of days to re-adjust. They're pretty tough creatures.

I had one (different snail) in a tank one time and I was clean up the gravel and I go to moving the gravel around and buried him for about week. He was still alive.
