hi i have only just started an aquarium and bought my fish yesterday i got 5 rosy tetra and 2 siamese flying fox, they all seemed very happy all day and seemed happy when i fed them for the first time this morning.

later on in the day after being out for a few hours 1 of my rosy tetra is upside down with its fins and tail looking very damaged, i have checked the ph, nitrate,, nitrite, general hardness and carbonate hardness which are all at the correct level, my fish tank is 180 litres so is big enough.

i have took the fish out of the tank for now and put in a glass bowl, i do not have a seperate tank for it.

any ideas on what i should do or what is wrong with it, all my other fish seem fine.

Where all the fish health when you bought them?? ( any dead ones in the tank at the fish shop?)

Im guessing if all the others are ok and the water is ok that its just an unhealthy fish

Welcome to TFF. I am glad you decided to drop in and try to learn how to best care for your fish. If I am reading your post right, you just set this tank up.
If that is true, you have made one of the most common mistakes of a new fish owner. The tank needs to have a bacterial colony established in it to take care of the ammonia that the fish produce with their normal biological activities. You can look here to investigate how to do a cycle with fish in the tank. It is likely that you are about to embark on the long process of doing a fishy cycle. It can be difficult and a bit tedious but if you do it right you will end up with a healthy tank that you can be proud of.
