So heres the deal. I have a sick (round-bellied) Ram symptoms are lethargic toward the bottom of the tank and not eating. He has an appearing and disappearing red patch on his abdomen.
I got it from the pet store about 4 weeks ago along with another ram. I had a freak leak in my 20 gallon last Thursday, I was away at work all day and I had a friend save as much water and gravel as possible. Long story short, I got a new tank and probably saved about 1/3 of the water. I filled the rest of the tank with new water probably until it was about 3/4 full and over a day or so added the rest.
Please note this ram in particular started acting sickly the day BEFORE the leak. At this point, I hadn't done a water change in a few weeks, So i did a small change, changed the cartridge AND the media ( I use polyfilter that had been in for a few months and needed changed) as well as trapped him in the breeder to make sure he was eating, which at this point he did. He actually seemed better when I went to bed that night. Then the next day was the leak. He has been displaying these symptoms ever since. The strangest thing to me is the fluctuating red in his abdomen.
I only have strip water tests, but so far there are no spikes in anything. Anyone have any meaningful help they can give me besides get a liquid testing kit and give you the actual parameters? Because I can't right now, and I don't know how much longer he has. I moved him into the breeder yesterday to try and feed, but he wouldn't even eat bloodworms.
Help?
Note: The darker spots on his belly in the picture is the "red" that is off and on.
