Good luck sussexgirl.

Hi Wilder. Wanted to ask your opinion. Worming meds have arrived today and Chris Ingram from Plymouth Discus has been great with his advice. I'm on day 3 of Myxazin and plan to do the worming treatment tomorrow. I've got my nursery tank back and will set up in the morning to accommodate my fry and shrimp whilst I treat the main tank. My sick platy is still with us and swimming round, eating, resting alot on the bottom and has clamped fins still. I've put her into an ice cream container floating on the top of the main tank and she seems happy enough in there. Do you think I should leave her in there or just put her back in the main tank? I'm not optimistic for her recovery although her scales already look improved and the white spots are reducing.

If she happy in the container leave her there bless her.
The worming med does it say in the instructions if your ph has to be above 7 to be affective.
Have you noticed the platy going to the toilet, and is her anus still enlarged.

anus still quite enlarged. She passed a HUGE thick white poo earlier. Definitely poo and not a worm. But do you think I should just treat the tank and then add the treated water into the container or just let her back into the main tank and sit and wait?

Well if you leave her in the container she would need an airstone with meds in the water.
I think I would add her back to the tank with the worming med.

With her being thin, an enlarged anus, and white poo though usually stringy still pointing towards internal parasites sadly.
Good luck.

Good luck.

Found her dead this morning. Poor little thing. The rest of the tank has gone through a course of Myxazin and wormer plus so hopefully the other fish will be ok. Am going to replace my carbon and do a big water change tomorrow. Thanks for all your help Wilder.

Sorry bless her R.I.P.
Good luck with the rest of the fish.
