i have thought of everything i can think of, and nothing seems to be helping
temp 80
ph normal

his now on his side breathing slow he also has something on his side like white fluff

i have him in 1" of water right now in the top of a heated tank so he will stay at 80 and not have any problems getting air

im not sure how food the photos are as i took them with my phone

What do you mean by normal ph? There isn't really a normal ph.

You need to post your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings. It sounds like nitrite poisoning to me if he is gasping. The white stuff is probably itch so you need to buy some medication from your lfs pretty quick.

What do you mean by being in 1 inch of water??!!

Edit: just seen your photos. Surely you need to get him into a filtered, heated tank!? He could just be sitting in his own waist at the moment which will cause him more problems.

he was in a filtered tank still on a heated tank
i have him in a healing tank right now as i dont know whats wrong with him
the healing tank is heated by a normal 20g tank with a normal heater that is heating to 80f

im not trying to be rude though most understand normal = 7.0 i keep all my tanks at 7.0 and i do daily checks with both a digital reader and a test kit

the 1" of water is in the healing tank, i do this with close to death bettas so they can breath easy any more they have a hard time getting to the top

Sorry, the terminology I use for a ph of 7.0 is neutral (below that acidic, above alkaline).

thats the same with me, though normal rather then neutral

he still upset/sick though his sitting up now, coming up for air on his own and all

Do frquent, small water changes. Fresh water will do wonders for him; I've lost count of the times doing a couple of water changes a day has pulled fish back from the brink :) The photos aren't very clear, but it looks like his fins are clamped. Are there any other symptoms? White fluff isn't itch, it'll be more likely to be fungus- Itch looks salt sprinkled over the fish. How long has been sick for?

With having him in so little water without a filter I'd be concerned about ammonia building up quite quickly, unless you are changing the water frequently. If he's now coming up for air by himself, I think you could probably get away with increasing the depth a little more. I'd also be concerned about him becoming stressed in so little water.

What do you have in the other tank? Is he the sole occupant or are there other fish in there? If he's the only one, might be worth transferring him back to that and placing him in a floating hospital container. That way he's in a filtered tank but can still get to the surface easily. Obviously not doable if there are other fish in there.

Hoping he pulls through for you :)
