Sick Miuntain Minnow

need help in this regard,i have bought a pair of mountain minnow yesterday for my 9 g tank ,it has tetras and platies inside.one minnow jumped out of the aquarium ,dont know for how long it was outside but it is still alive.but most of its fins are not working,it is lookig very sick.other fishes also are not liking my poor minnow much.anything can be done ?

Put your sick mountain minnow in a separate tank for a start, and put lids on your tanks (prevents fish from jumping out).

Apart from that I don't know what else to suggest.

Youve a lot of fish and not much swimming room for them so if they feel hemmed in then they will jump. Also test for ammonia nitrite nitrate and ph as anything out can cause fish to jump.

yeah even normally peaceful fish will pick on a poorly fish, so you need to seperate it from the other's as they'll only make it worse. If you don't have a seperate tank for it then you can buy tank dividers.

You could also try treating with melafix, it's natural remedy that helps them recover quicker from cuts and stresses. It might stop it from developing any secondary infections which is quite likely.

Also as others have mentioned you need to look at why it jumped. Make sure the lid is secure and well fitting, and look at your stocking and water quality for any potential problems.

it comes in a bottle with instructions for how much to use, you work out the correct amount based on how many liters your tank holds. then just add the correct amount of melafix to the tank, do this every day for 7 days, then when you've finished the treatment do a fairly large water change to remove most of it from the water. it's easy peasy! glad the minnow is recovering.
