My male krib has not been himself for the past week. I thought perhaps it was the phospate level in the tank (it went nuts -- off the chart) but it's under control now and he's still acting weird.
The female hangs out with the 9 congo tetras like she's a part of their shoal. She cruises around with them although will hang out by herself sometimes.
Back to the male -- he hides most of the time and will not come up to the top to feed like the female does. He just hangs out at the bottom. His color looks good -- maybe a little pale. Neither krib has the pretty red belly yet. His fins look good, too.
His "poo" as everyone calls it (!!) is white. Seems like I read this could be constipation or maybe internal parasites?? I tried giving him a shelled pea -- but OMG -- the congos go crazy over the peas! I placed one on the bottom of the tank but the female ate it.
Sometimes he will chase her when she comes near him. But mostly he just hides near the driftwood. It's like he's emotionally disturbed...
Any ideas?? Ammonia, nitrite are zero, nitrate is 5ppm and pH is 7.6.
