My poor honey gourami, pippin, has been sitting on the bottom of my fish tank all day. I think he may be sick. He was doing that a couple of days ago but not as much as he did it today. Whats wrong with him? :(

Stats would be good in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
What do you feed your fish, and what it look like when he goes to the toilet.
Sounds like a bacterial infections which gouramisi are very prone to.

I will test the water tomorow. Hes swimming around right now, But that was just for a second. I dont know what it looks like when he gos to the bathroom, but I will look. :)

What would I treat him if it's a bacterial infection?

Is he stuggling to get off the bottom of the tank, and can he maintain his balance is the water, is he laying to one side when swimming, or floating upside down now and then,.
Try some shelled peas on him, need location for a med.

He has been acting kind of weird lately. He has been sitting in a corner, And has been just sitting on the bottom of the tank. But when he swims he seems fine. He may not be sick, but I am not sure. I am kind of worryed. I think I will quarantine him.

Hard to say if you don't describe the blotches, they can be bacterial to parasite, but find at this moment in time sounds more like bacterial if hes not flicking and rubbing on things.

He seems to have a little bit of black on him :( . And he's not rubbing himself on things.

Are the patches black as there ammonia burns that are healing.

hi dont want to sound stupid but did he have a mate with him in the tank because i have a blue one and its mate died it started to stay in the top corner of my tank and then it would lay on the bottom of tank i would put net in to catch him then he would swim off all ok . so i placed another of his kind in the tank and he seems to be ok

I think he just may be lonely. I think I will get another honey gourami so he has a friend. He doesent seem to have any type of sickness because when he swims around he seems fine, then he just goes and rests on the bottom. I think I was just worryed. he seems fine. :)
