Hello all!

I am a newbie at keeping fish, and things have been going along just fine (so, several months) until last night. I noticed that one of our five males is keeping low to the bottom of the tank, and seems to be breathing quickly. I think he may have eye protrusion as well. I watched him feed, and he'd take in the food and spit it out. His poop also seems to be clear. He will swim a bit, but seems to have trouble staying upright- he's kind of leaning to the side.

I have been watching the water with test strips, and I recently changed the filter. All seems to be well. I'm worried about overfeeding, so I'm cutting back to once a day instead of twice a day.

Help!?

Test strips are inaccurate. Get liquid tests. Changing filter causes loss of beneficial bacteria and you end up in fish-in cycle again due to getting a new filter, unless you have moved the media over to the new one.
