First of all a run down of the tank:

60 Litres, 12*12*24 with a number of plants, bogwood and a couple of ornaments

5X neon tetra
4X Zebra Danio
2X male Guppy
2X male Molly
2X White cloud minnow
1X freshwater shrimp

The tank has been set up for approx 2 months and the ammonia, nitrite levels have been at zero for approx 1 1/2 months. Nitrate levels approx 5ppm

All the fish have been happy, until the last few days when I added 5X zebra Danios. When I got them home one looked weak and old... 2 days later it died (last night) after it's tail was drooping a lot and it wasnt acting normal, etc. It looked older than all the others, though

What has mystified me, though is one of my Guppies has become sick :(

He's just lying at the bottom of the tank at the front barely moving, his long body drooping and fins sagging. There seems to be more gill/ mouth movement than usual, like he's running overtime trying to fight off something...

More symptoms... bulging belly. I read on the net this could be constip[ation in a guppy, could this be the case? I don't think i have been overfeeding however he did appear to eat a lot of freeze dried tubifex yesterday

I need some help here, do i need to get a hospital tank with aquarium salt or is he likely to pull through?

Another posibility - the Danio that died could have introduced a disease? How can i test for this? The rest of the fish are tip top

Help please!

Can we take a look at your stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
The tail doe it look like it weighing him down, any signs of flicking and rubbing on objects or darting about.
Change of colour from going pale to dark.
SORRY WRONG ARTICLE HERE THE RIGHT ONE.

well, he's just lying at the bottom of the tank at the front not moving atall. If i tap on the glass he swims around a bit. He's resting his tail on the tank bed though

When they lay on the gravel to oneside it usually a sign of a bacterial infection, if the fish is laboured breathing he won't make it.
You could try a bacterial med in the tank like interpet anti internal bacteria.

he's not lying on his side, he's perfectly upright

Laying on the gravel is not normal for a guppy.
Had guppies gave up on them have to much going on with them, its up to you but there no go in them.

I've done some reading and i think it's eaten too much protein - in the form of tubifex. I've turned off ther light and fed a small ammount of normal flakes, he took them, darting around like normal. Think i'll get them some veg and feed less protein :) Still, see how he is in the morning

Post stats as well in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

ammonia/nitrite both zero. Nitrate around 5ppm (as said in first post)

I gave them a small ammount of flakes last night and he came up from the bottom and really darted around fast (like usual) to get them, however a few minutes after just went to the bottom of the tank again

Also, at night when the lights were all off he was at the top of the tank with the othr guppy (again as usual) however with the light on he just rests in the same place

I hope he pulls through -_-

You might want to try a shelled pea. This will help if it's just constipation from overeating/etc.
I always try this first with my gups and amazingly it helps 99% of the time.
Just take a frozen pea, warm it in hot water a few minutes, take the shell off and crush it a bit in your fingers and see if he'll eat some.

Sounds to me very much like that danio brought a bacterial infection into your tank. I would isolate guppy if at all possible, if not treat whole tank.

he's at the surface now, looks just as bloated and there's no peas in the house  I'll give it a go later though

If alot of your fish are coming down with bacterial infections you need to treat the tank with a bacterial med.

didnt go for the peas, hes just swimming around at the top of the tank slowly. It's upsetting

Sorry he's not going to make it is he laboured breathing also.
