Sick Gourami With Raw Face

I posted this in the gourami section but I figured it cant hurt to post here since I need to act quick.

I had 3 gold gouramis, 1 oplain gourami and 2 kissing gouramis in my 60 gallon along with a couple other fish and things were ok, the male gold gourami chased the females a bit but he backed off a lot lately since there were higher numbers of females now. I just got my water tested and I dont know the exact number but the guy said that my nitrates were high. I just did a water change about 3 days ago and am going to do one today.

But now one of the gold gouramis looks like her face is pealing off on one side! I have her in the hospital tank with a guppy that is being treated for a fungus issue at the moment.. it was the only place I could put her. Is there anyway I can help my gourami? I wont be able to go back to my lfs until saturday

You did post here. Read your other thread. I wanted to try to give you something since no one has responded. Check out this link under the "Fs" and "Gs" Look at fungus and gill fluke problems. Just some ideas. The site recommends name brand stuff but you could substitute in whatever is available to you.

ive had the same thing happen with one of my african leaf fish.

Thamks for replaying. I went through the page and the closest thing that could have been it was rot.. where she decays at the mouth. Only reason I think that is because the only thing that made me notice what happened to her was because the 2 female gold gouramis were doing behavior like my kissing gouramis.. "kissing" eachother. I looked as if they were trying to eat the decayed skin off her.
Sadly she passed away last night while I was sleeping I just hope none of my other fish have what she has.
