Sick Fry??

Does the mother have long stringy white poo, as the mother can pass internal parasites onto the young, yes would be good to no what you are feeding them, do they look skinny or bloated.

LOL, well I am not certain what kind of fry.... none of my fish appeared to be heavily pregnant, but somehow I got 2 batches of fry. I have mollies, so I am sure some of the fry are mollies, they are white...the others, I really dont know, they are partly black and gold..

I feed them crushed flake food, a couple of different kinds, and occasionally crush up some freeze dried bloodworm, and freeze dried tubifex worms.

My water params are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 20-30 nitrates, the temp is 79... its a 10 gallon tank , 4 are the white fry, which are about a week and a half old, and the 2 gold and black ones are a week old Friday.

One appears kinda fat, the others appear what I would guess as normal ( never had fry before ) .. none of my other fish (namely the females) in the main tank appear to be sick .

To many dried foods in there diet, which can cause constipation and swim bladder problems, need a varied diet of frozen bloodworms, brimestrimp, and daphnia, etc,veg in peas, broc, cumumba etc, and they like algae tablets too, try some shelled peas, boil for a few minutes, let cool down, pop out of shell squeeze between fingers till mushy then add to the tank, do this for a few days, then let us all no if the poo is still long white and stringy, the baby fry will need some baby brime strimp.

Ok thanks, I will try that.! I tried to get pics, and got a couple, but you cant see the poo lol. That , and I have no idea how to post them hehe

also, canned peas? frozen peas?????

Signs of internal parasites are long stringy white poo, red inflamed large anus, worms prutruding from the anus, and they can look bloated or skinny, but skinny is the more clearer sign.

Frozen are best, but canned will be fine if you don't have frozen.

Oh they enjoyed the heck out of that! I never would have thought fish would like pea goo ( for lack of a better term) so much LOL :)

thanks for the advice !

Lol, just observe them if that dosnt clear them up, you could be dealing with internal parasites, so good luck.

:D I never bother boiling peas first......I take them out of the freezer, shell them, and by the time I've done that they are thawed......so I put them straight into the tank.
