Got up this morning and one of our 2 month old fry was unable to swim properly. We've put him in a small amount of water in a tub floating in the tank but he's just lying on the bottom on his side.

Is there anything else we can do for him??????

Not to worry now.....poor little thing didn't make it :( :( :( he was absolutely fine yesterday and no idea what the problem was.

Thanks guys......I really thought we had got past the worrying stage with them and they seemed so healthy. Now we're down to 4 :(

I can't see any visible signs of anything wrong but maybe someone with more experience can as I don't want the others to come down with the same thing.

its belly looked a little full, what are you feeding them?, even ground to powder the dry bettas pellets or the baby bettas starter can bung up their bellies, causing constipation and might mess up their swim bladder.
my babies get thawed daphina every other day with a mix of powdered betta pellets, ground up blood worms ,, or ground up brine shrimp. all in all they get feed twice a day , i just switch what they eat alot, and they get the shelled pea twice a week total.
yea i lost a few babies this week too,, had 23 and now are down to 21.. the littlest ones just didnt seem able to make it.

Thanks guys.....that one was the smallest out of the 5. I've been feeding a variety of food......Brine shrimp, crushed betta pro, daphnia, grated blood worm. Maybe I'll try introducing some pea now and then too :good:
