Sick Blue Gourami

Hi there

I am relativley new to the whole fish keeping thing and have a question regaurding my gourami. It has several small sores on its sides and its fins are starting to get tatty. I had two other gouramis that have died (in the last 5 months) after getting similar symptoms (although they also lost their colour). My tank is 3ft, has fairly regular water changes and contains various angels, danios, tetras and catfish. The gourami has been living happily in the tank for about a year. I have tried seperating him off and treating him with Wunder Tonic (main ingrediant methylene blue)

Any help would be appreciated

There has been a lot of this around lately. It's usually viral and cannot be treated. Occasionally it's bacterial and can be treated with antibiotics.
