Sick Betta

Over the last few days my betta has become really slow and sluggish, and his scales look like they've been 'ruffled'. Also he's opening and closing his mouth, and doing the same with his gills. I've no idea what to do, as iv never seen anything like it before.. Does anyone know anything about it?

What do you mean by ruffled scales? Do they stick out kinda?
I would say to look into dropsy. here is a link

They all look like they've been pushed the wrong way.. instead of lying flat, they stick out.. thanks il have a look

The scales sound like dropsy to me - can be lethal so I'd try to act asap.
